No day is the same in the ambulance.

One moment can be a calm patient transport while the next may involve an emergency ride with lights and sirens. Together with a specialist nurse, you provide the best possible care and nursing in the patient's home, at an accident site, and during transport to a healthcare facility. You are often the first on the scene and meet patients with various types of illnesses and injuries. At an accident site, you often collaborate with other actors such as police, rescue services, and emergency doctors.

The specialist nurse has the medical responsibility in the ambulance. You will handle contact with SOS Alarm, hospitals, police, and other rescue personnel, and are responsible for driving the ambulance when it is most urgent. It is an independent job where your assessment and care can be crucial for the patient.

Our ambulance stations are located throughout Greater Stockholm, and you will belong to one station. If needed, you may also work at other stations during your employment.

We are looking for someone who is confident in their professional role and can take responsibility, as well as having good judgment when making small and large decisions since the work is independent. As no assignment is the same, you need to quickly adapt to changing working conditions and pace while maintaining your composure in interactions with patients and relatives. Being good at collaborating and working with different colleagues, and meeting patients, relatives, and partners in a respectful and trustworthy manner is a given for you and something you excel at.

Qualifications

• Licensed nurse with the authority to practice within Swedish healthcare.
• At least 1 year of experience in emergency care.
• Experience in ambulance care is an advantage.
• Have a B driving license and good driving experience in urban traffic. C1 is an advantage.
• As heavy lifting of patients occurs, it is important that you have good physical fitness.
• Proficient in Swedish in speech and writing. Other languages are an advantage.

Start Date

For those who have not previously worked in the ambulance, your employment will start with an 8-week introductory training. Therefore, it is important that you can work full-time at the start date of employment. If you already have experience in the ambulance, the start date will be set individually by agreement.
